Don’t let the fun end! Grab your friends or a date and spend a leisurely spring evening at Wave Hill with fellow birders and nature enthusiasts. Enjoy drinks and a lively round of Birders Trivia with "Trivia Master" Ryan Mandelbaum and local bird guide Gabriel Willow as your hosts. Hang out on our tented café terrace with gorgeous views of the open lawns and woodlands. Wrap up your evening with a guided nature walk as the birds are heading home to roost or enjoy a quiet sunset from the café terrace or the Great Lawn.

Birding knowledge not required to play. Cash bar with a variety of local beers and themed cocktails. Ages 21 and older. Bring your friends! Trivia teams are 5 people or less. Prizes will be awarded to the winners!

Spring rain will not dampen the fun! We’ll carry on under the tent if rain is light. Moves indoors if it’s chilly or rain is heavy.

The Café, Shop and Wave Hill House close at 8:30PM. Grounds close at 9:00PM.

Wave Hill House is wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible, ground-level entrance at the front of the building with a power-assist door. The restroom on the ground level is all-gender and ADA-compliant. Additional ADA-compliant restrooms are available on the lower level, which can be accessed by elevator.

Walks follow a route along mixed-material pathways with varying elevations. A limited amount of walking sticks are available to borrow. Pace varies from a slow walk to moderate walk throughout.

Gabriel Willow

Gabriel Willow

Gabriel Willow is a naturalist with a particular passion for birds and urban spaces. He is an environmental educator and ecological tour guide in NYC, where he leads tours and teaches classes for NYC Audubon and Wave Hill, among others. His tours focus on seeking out the overlooked and ignored elements of wildness hiding all around us, ranging from boat trips on the East River, to kayaking on Newtown Creek, to seeking the elusive Peregrine Falcons nesting on skyscrapers near Wall Street. He has created programs for Lincoln Center, the Morgan Library and Museum, the NY Botanical Garden, and more. He is also an artist, illustrator, and DJ.
Ryan Mandelbaum

Ryan Mandelbaum

Ryan Mandelbaum is a science writer, naturalist, and member of the NYC Audubon's Young Conservationists Council. Originally from Long Island, they travel around their resident borough of Brooklyn searching for and showing others local birds and stopover migrants. Ryan strives to make their walks welcoming, inclusive, and fun and they'll also share plenty of random facts to dispense about the parks, wildlife, science, and more. They have written about birds for a variety of publications, including The New York Times, Gizmodo, Audubon, Gothamist, and more. They also volunteer for the New York State Breeding Bird Atlas, Feminist Bird Club, and The Finch Research Network. When not thinking about birds, Ryan works full-time at IBM as a physics writer.
